This month's shopping schedule is good. Really good. From philanthropic events to clean beauty and even a couple of new shops, there really is a little bit of something for every single shopper. And because Valentine's Day is celebrated this month, why not use it as an excuse to treat yourself to something special? You deserve it.

Bridal and Event Show at Hotel Crescent Court
Whether you just got engaged over the holidays or are deep into planning the wedding of your dreams, don't miss the opportunity to check out some of the best vendors in North Texas. Tickets to the February 18 showcase start at $30 and include a mimosa while you mix and mingle with industry reps to lend major inspiration for your special day. The event lasts from 1-4 pm.

    Credo
Legacy West in Plano is landing this San Francisco-based company's first Texas store. It not only houses all the best in clean beauty products but also has a full-service Tata Harper spa. Other brands to get excited about include Juice Beauty, Axiology, Cocovit, Evolvh, and more. The store also has a "clean swaps" feature where customers can bring in their beauty bag and get guidance on healthy alternatives.

If it has been a while since you've visited this darling shop in Preston Center, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a new custom creation. For starters, they are offering much more than just custom shirts now. Think dresses, suiting, skirts, and even dresses. Their new custom belting program is also a fun way to add personality to any look.

    Ellis Hill
Same amazing paper and customizable product. New location. Yes, another store imoving to West Lovers Lane. And it's 5001 West Lovers Ln. to be exact. Head over to this new, larger shop to experience the best in invitations, stationery, monogramming, and more.

    Facelogic Spa
Head into this Park Cities spa with an unused tube of lipstick through March and receive a $10 gift card from the spa. This is part of the cosmetic and skincare drive to benefit Genesis Women's Shelter. Additionally, Facelogic is donating $1,000 worth of cosmetics to the shelter in celebration of its 10th anniversary in Dallas.

    TRG Duty Free
Dallas offers dozens of nonstop flights to other countries, so it only makes sense that a fantastic duty free shop should land at DFW Airport's dashing Terminal D. Because everything's bigger and better in Dallas, this two-level store is the largest duty free store in the Western Hemisphere, coming in at over 20,000 square feet. Offerings include everything from high-end makeup like Chanel and La Mer to Fort Worth's TX Whiskey.

Twisted Tulip Pop-Up at West Village
Shop modern Valentine's Day arrangements by floral artist Jake Davis at this pop-up shop in the former Kendra Scott store space in West Village. There are six luxury rose concepts to choose from, and you can pop in February 9 through Valentine's Day. Jason McDaniel, creative director of Missing Q Press, also will be on hand to offer additional ideas for ways to wow your loved ones this holiday season. The shop opens at 10 am daily.

Dallas thrift chain Goodwill to open new location in former Big Lots

A new destination for bargain hunters is coming to Carrollton: Goodwill Industries of Dallas will debut a new store at 3621 N. Josey Ln., in what was previously a Big Lots store. Still sad about losing Big Lots.

According to a release, the new Goodwill will be a "state-of-the-art" store and donation drop-off center and will open on June 5.

This store will be Goodwill Industries of Dallas' 19th location in its eight-county service area and will be a one-stop shop for affordable goods, including clothing, household items, and electronics.

A donation drop-off center will feature a drive-thru and online receipt process. That online receipt process must be what makes it state-of-the-art. (That is only a guess since their PR team was unavailable for comment.)

Goodwill President & CEO Tim Heis says in a statement that they're thrilled to open a second store in Carrollton, to support their ongoing reuse and recycling of donations as well as helping individuals be employed.

"Every purchase made, and every item donated directly supports our free career training and job placement programs, making a tangible difference in the lives of many," Heis says.

The new Carrollton store is specifically part of Goodwill Industries of Dallas, which has 19 locations including Mesquite, Irving, Plano, Garland, Frisco, Lewisville, Denton, and more.

Goodwill Industries of Dallas has been operating since 1923, providing workforce development training, programs, and support services for individuals facing barriers to employment. It currently operates in eight counties across North Texas: Dallas, Ellis, Kaufman, Navarro, Rains, Rockwall, and parts of Collin and Denton counties.

There is also a separate Goodwill North Central Texas, which is basically "Fort Worth" and has 27 locations of its own.
