Where To Shop Now
Where to shop in Dallas right now: 8 must-hit stores for October
Partners Card, the annual fundraiser for Family Place that gives Dallas shoppers discounts at their favorite stores around the city, kicks off October 24. But here are some other suggestions for where to shop this month:
Alton Lane
In honor of its one-year anniversary in Dallas, the men's custom clothier, which uses 3D body-scanning technology, is offering a promotion through October 14. The store will take 15 percent off any black label suit or blazer and 10 percent off any black label shirt. There is also special savings for a group appointment of four men or more. You can even book an appointment online.
Anteks Curated
In mid-October, Anteks owner Jason Lenox is opening a second shop at the Plaza at Preston Center called Anteks Curated. Located next to Pockets, the boutique will offer gifts, home accessories, menswear — think feather bow ties and denim aprons — and select furnishings. Some items, such as Lenox's own home accessories line, will be carried at both Anteks Curated and his Design District shop.
BoConcept
BoConcept relocated its Dallas showroom from the Design District to Knox-Henderson. It opens with the new 2014 collection of Danish-designed furnishings, which are available in more colors, contrasts and combinations than ever before. Most everything in the store — sofas, chairs, tables, beds, storage systems, lighting, rugs and pillows — can be tailored to a customer's needs, and Conceptors can provide in-store or in-home consultations.
Emily Summers Studio 54
Dallas interior designer Emily Summers is taking her esteemed business to a new level with an upscale boutique opening at Highland Park Village on October 17. The 1,300-square-foot shop will house Summers' favorite vintage furnishings and custom pieces by local artists. Among the luxurious goods are contemporary furniture from KGBL, select 20th century furniture from Liz O'Brien and F.J. Hakimian's contemporary rugs.
J.Crew
J.Crew has opened another Dallas store at the buzzy new 3700M in West Village. Now preppy Uptowners can get stock up on all their favorite J.Crew classics, from denim and slacks to blouses and dresses to jackets and blazers. We love the new lambswool tipped sweater-tunic for fall.
Mulberry
The luxurious British brand opens at NorthPark Center on October 30, where it will offer signature leather accessories, shoes and womenswear, including the practical yet covetable Cara Delevingne bags. Another coup for NorthPark: This is Mulberry's first store in Texas.
Thrift Studio
The highly anticipated Thrift Studio pop-up shop is back in the Design District on October 10, featuring fabulous furniture and home accessories donated by local designers. Proceeds benefit Dwell with Dignity, a nonprofit that helps families escape poverty and homelessness through design, one household at a time. Shop through November 8.
Walking Company
Another new addition to NorthPark Center is Walking Company, located on level two between Nordstrom and Macy's. Shop for comfy shoes by the likes of Mephisto, Dansko, Ecco, Born and Clarks.
