Beloved online mattress maker chooses Dallas to roll out first Texas store
If you've been hesitant to go online and buy a "bed in a box," NorthPark Center has some good news. Popular online brand Tuft & Needle is opening its first Texas store on September 7, and while you can still get a gigantic mattress delivered to your door in a small box, now you can try it out in person first.
The Dallas store is the brand's seventh, joining Portland, Oregon; Raleigh, North Carolina; Kansas City, Missouri; Seattle; and two stores in Arizona (where it was founded in 2012). It's located on level one between Macy's and Nordstrom, by Kona Grill and the NorthCourt, and is currently scheduled to be open through March (with hopes to extend or even become permanent).
In addition to the original Tuft & Needle mattress and its newer Mint version, shoppers can browse mattress toppers and protectors, sheet sets in both jersey and percale made from Supima cotton grown in the Southwest, duvets and duvet covers, and pillows.
Metal bases, two types of solid wood frames, adjustable bases, and box foundations are also available, as well as the Pouch, a reinvented bean bag with a quilted, washable cover that comes in three colors.
Tuft & Needle mattresses are made from two layers of high quality, open-cell foam with added graphite and cooling gel (the Mint mattress has three total layers).
Each comes with a 100-night trial and 10-year warranty, and all are delivered to your door in one to five days. If within those 100 nights you initiate a return, your mattress is picked up at no cost and donated to a local charity.
During Saturday's opening, the first 50 guests (limit one per 18-and-up adult) will receive a free pillow when the doors open at 10 am. The Labor Day sale will still be going on, too, with 40 percent off sheets and $100 off any Mint mattress.
