Popular Mexican restaurant heads north with new spinoff in Frisco

Having wowed them in downtown Carrollton for three years, upscale Mexican restaurant El Rincon is opening a second location, this one in Frisco. It's going into a center at 2809 Preston Rd. called the Shops at Stonebriar, with an opening set for summer 2019.
The Frisco location will be located at an outparcel location formerly occupied by Mellow Mushroom, which has been closed for two years.
El Rincon's menu consists of Mexican favorites, made with fresh ingredients, and includes appetizers such as queso flameado, nachos locos, and shrimp brochette. At lunch, they serve elotes, brisket empanadas, and quesadillas. Dinner options include Rincon nachos, flautas, and chimichanga.
According to a release, El Rincon has plans to transform the interior and outside patio with a refreshed look and improved ambience.
"As a restaurateur in North Texas, it is always an exciting time when you have the opportunity to expand a concept that you love," says El Rincon founder/owner Rick Na. "We know that Frisco will be a beneficial and strategic addition to the El Rincon brand, and we look forward to meeting our new guests."
El Rincon means "the corner." The original opened in Downtown Carrollton at South Elm and 4th Street in 2016. The restaurant focuses on a fusion of Mexican favorites equipped with fresh ingredients and local dining preferences.
William Rosatti, senior associate for JAH Realty, which signed the deal, says that El Rincon will add to the lively food and beverage scene at the Shops at Stonebriar. A Burlington Coat Factory is also scheduled to open at around the same time.
