Summer unofficially arrives this week and events are following cue. There are two barbecue classes, the launch of a summer tasting series, and a tequila dinner that will put patrons in vacay mode. Save room for an extra day of brunch on Monday.
Friday, May 24
Summer Fridays at Eataly
Italian gourmet grocer inside North Park Center will host a walking tasting tour every Friday from 2-7 pm. Purchase a $15 punch card and follow the map to redeem tastings around the store, including salumi, formaggi, bite-sized pastries, shrimp cocktail or caviar tartlets, mini gelato cones, and more. The event also includes live pasta demos, olive oil tastings, live music, and one free dessert at La Pizza & La Pasta or Terra.
Barbecue Class at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel
Learn how to master the grill this summer during this class led by Sheraton Dallas Hotel chef Andrew Cadillo. Brisket, ribs, pork, and chicken will be covered in the first hours followed by a reception including beer and wine. The event is $75 and will run from 6–8:30 pm.
Celebration of Agave with Patron Tequila at Del Frisco’s Grille
Third annual tequila dinner will take place at all locations of Del Frisco’s Grille and feature five courses paired with five different Patron tequila cocktails. Menu highlights include snapper and shrimp ceviche, short rib birria, and tres leches cake. Unique cocktails range from Paloma Passionata to an Anejo Old Fashioned. Dinner is $125 inclusive of tax and gratuity and begins at 7 pm.

Texas Barbecue & Bourbon: Up Close and Personal at Omni PGA Frisco Resort
Education and tasting experience will start with a welcome cocktail, then a brisket smoking demonstration and Q&A session before embarking on a BBQ tasting with four pours of Garrison Brothers Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Participants get a take-home bottle of the resort’s signature Dr. Pepper barbecue sauce. A portion of the $250 fee will benefit Frisco Family Services. Memorial Day Brunch at Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar
The holiday weekend means an extra day for brunching at the Southern-inspired restaurant, which has locations in Las Colinas and Plano. Visit Monday from 11 am-3 pm for mimosa flights, a build-your-own bloody mary bar, lemon blueberry French Toast, chicken and waffles, and Wagyu hash.
Memorial Day Brunch at The Finch
Both locations in Dallas at Mockingbird Station and in Grand Prairie will be extending weekend brunch through Monday in celebration of Memorial Day with features such as Honey Stung Chicken & Waffles or Brûléed Banana French Toast. 11 am-3 pm.
