Cattle Baron's Big Reveal
Cattle Baron’s snares country music Hall of Famer for 2016 Dallas ball

January 14 was an exciting night for the Dallas charitable set as chairwomen Cara French and Andrea Weber welcomed them to the entertainment reveal party for the 2016 Cattle Baron’s Ball themed “Texas Proud.” And proud they were to proclaim that Toby Keith has signed on as this year's headlining performer.
The announcement came via video, which attendees — including Nancy Gopez, Kristi Bare, Anne Stodghill, Merrick Huckin, Marjon Henderson, Melissa Sherrill Martin, Katy Bock, and Laura Reeder — watched with anticipation after procuring a celebratory glass of champagne or Grey Goose cocktail.
Tim McGraw won over the Cattle Baron’s Ball crowd last year, but Keith can handily fill those shoes: He has sold more than 40 million albums in his career and has been named the No. 1 country artist of the decade. In June 2015, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
“Many of our top donors have already come on board, so we are enjoying strong momentum as we begin the new year,” Weber said. “Having Toby Keith perform will help us raise tremendous funds for cancer research in North Texas.”
Cattle Baron’s Ball, the largest American Cancer Society fundraising event for cancer research in the world, takes place October 15 at Gilley’s Dallas. For more information on underwriting opportunities, call 214-443-9222. Individual tickets go on sale in August.
