Oh What a Night
Friends of the Park Spring Fling brings the romance to Klyde Warren Park
Unlike most short-term relationships, Spring Fling 2013, the Klyde Warren Park fundraiser sponsored by CultureMap Dallas, was unforgettable. We woke up the next morning with absolutely no regrets.
For starters, we couldn’t have dreamed of a more beautiful night. A crisp 65 degrees set the perfect stage for 200 Klyde Warren Park supporters, who imbibed in a VIP area as they awaited a rocking music performance by the Ray Johnston Band.
While dressed-to-impress young professionals noshed on sliders, short ribs and crab cakes — courtesy of John Coleman, chef for the upcoming Savor restaurant — models sported eco-friendly looks from Tootsies for a casual runway show. For additional entertainment, guests also watched a hip young artist sketch away on an oversized canvas.
Frontman Ray Johnston rocked the stage of the sleek new pavilion, and everyone in the park — from regulars stretched out on blankets to VIP’s perched on cozy faux-grass love seats — got to enjoy the show. In between sets, spring flingers struck a pose for the SmileBooth camera and got their sugar fix at the Fluffpop stand.
Among the supporters mixing it up on the green: Courtney Edwards, Reanae Seth, Jennifer Murr, Heather Daniel, J. Damany Daniel, Jason Esquire, Glenn Singleton, Carolyn Chinn, Sean Charles, Brian Danley, Jim Mathias, Curtis Gribble, Jenifer Strauss, .
We’re certain this Spring Fling is only the beginning of a beautiful summer romance with the park.
