Prominent arts patrons shine at Dallas Symphony Orchestra AT&T Gala
The rainy weather didn't dampen the spirits — or the attire — of prominent arts patrons who donned their absolute finest for the 2013 Dallas Symphony Orchestra AT&T Gala at the Meyerson Symphony Center. In fact, attendees shined amid the clouds as they walked the red carpet into the hall.
Gala chairs Ann and Steve Stodghill welcomed guests, including Capera Ryan, Barbara and Don Daseke, Stewart Lee, Valerie Rees-Jones, Patty and Blaine Nelson, Pam and Keith Braley, Jennifer and Coley Clark, and Amy and Jonathan Martin. It's safe to say every lady in the crowd was gushing over Ann's show-stopping cobalt blue gown.
Prior to the main performance, attendees sipped cocktails and indulged in a decadent dinner in the lobby, while elegant music provided a prelude to the show to come.
After dinner, Renée Fleming dazzled the audience with a mix of heavenly vocals and charming chatter. The crowd was so impressed they gave her a standing ovation, which resulted in an encore from the lovely soprano. Jaap Van Zweden and the DSOalso delivered a flawless performance befitting their Grammy Award-winning songstress.
The evening ended in true Dallas fashion with specialty cocktails, desserts and savories at the after-party, which included tunes by none other than DJ Lucy Wrubel.
