The Chi Omega Christmas Market is the largest festive fundraiser for the sorority's Dallas alumnae. This year — the 35th — the market moved to Centennial Hall at Fair Park, providing more space for merchants.
The event's organizers — market preview party chair K'Lea Lisenby, market co-chairs Kelly Little and Denise Jernigan, and preview party emcee Shelly Slater — pledged $205,000 to this year's beneficiaries:
- Contact Crisis Line
- Friends of Wednesday's Child
- Genesis Women's Shelter
- Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas
- Night OWLS
- Parkland Foundation
- Readers2Leaders
- Taylor's Gift Foundation
- Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children
- Chi Omega Collegiate Scholarships
At the preview party, DJ Lucy Wrubel spun beats as shoppers — including Jennifer and Steve Metzger, Barbara and Mike Cooney, Diane and John Lister, Jodie Slater Hastings, Margo Rudd, Kristen Hillman, Elizabeth Carter, Stephanie Brigger, Peggy Meyer, Katia Lee, and Victoria Cullum — perused the chic jewelry, decor and fashion from 165 vendors.
Guests also sipped on cocktails, noshed on heavy hors d'oeuvre and had a little fun in the photo booth. Thanks to the Chi O's, supporters did some serious holiday shopping and raised some serious cash for 10 deserving charitable organizations.
