Basketball Controversy
Mark Cuban and other NBA bigwigs cheer Donald Sterling's lifetime ban
The Los Angeles Clippers finally have something to cheer about. Their disgraced owner, Donald Sterling, has been banned from the NBA for life. NBA commissioner Adam Silver handed down the decision at an April 29 press conference. Silver also fined Sterling $2.5 million, the maximum allowed in the NBA Constitution.
Sterling came under fire for racist comments he made to his girlfriend in a recorded conversation. The NBA was united in outrage about his comments, and that unity has carried over in support for the lifetime ban.
Dallas Mavericks Mark Cuban got the ball rolling on Twitter, and many NBA owners, players and coaches joined in on the chorus. The supportive comments have been retweeted and favorited tens of thousands of times.
I agree 100% with Commissioner Silvers findings and the actions taken against Donald Sterling
