Cowboy Dez Bryant attempts to shed spoiled child image by giving away PlayStation 4s
Thursday night saw the advent of the next console generation with the midnight launch of the PlayStation 4. For a handful of early adopters at a Dallas Walmart, that meant having Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant pick up their tabs.
According to Sporting News, Bryant showed up at Walmart before the midnight launch of the PS4, when about half a dozen people were waiting in line for the console to go on sale.
After talking with some sales associates, Bryant approached the group and said he would buy five PS4s — one for himself and four others in line. Bryant paid in cash and even stuck around to take a few pictures with shoppers and Walmart employees.
One of the PS4 recipients said that Bryant was low-key about the whole thing. All told, Bryant spent more than $2,000 on the $399 consoles. Not a bad way to make a few fans extremely happy and rehabilitate your image. It'll be harder for announcers to call Bryant a spoiled child after this gesture.
Damn, @DezBryant just bought whoever was in line at a Walmart in Dallas a PS4.
