Hiatus Spa's Inwood Village flagship got a new look during the pandemic
Those needing some post-pandemic pampering will be delighted to learn that Hiatus Spa + Retreat in Inwood Village has undergone a total remodel, and is now welcoming back visitors (with strict COVID-19 protocols, of course).
The wellness haven used the past six months to freshen up its flagship location, expanding its offerings and redesigning its treatment rooms and lounges. Dallas-based designer Tracy Martin Taylor of eleven 11 DESIGN led the renovation, which includes:
- 21 treatment rooms
- 8 zero-gravity chairs
- New and expanded nail therapy room with natural light
- Expanded women's lounge
- New and expanded relaxation area
- Private party relaxation area
"We are so excited to be reopening our flagship Hiatus Inwood location, where our little story began 14 years ago," says Hiatus co-founder Sheila Garrison. "It's amazing to think back and reflect on everything that's happened in the time since, particularly on the heels of opening our three newest locations: Fort Worth, Dallas The Hill, and Frisco The Star."
That's another thing Hiatus has done since March: open two more DFW locations.
The Frisco spa is 5,283 square feet and was also designed by Taylor, along with Mark and Maurie Gray of M-Gray Architecture. There, guests can enjoy 15 treatment rooms, including a couple's suite and hydrotherapy suite with a Vichy shower, a nail therapy lounge with four zero-gravity chairs, an inviting relaxation area, and separate men's and women's dressing rooms. It's located at 6740 Winning Dr., near the Cowboys headquarters in The Star.
The Hill location is 5,454 square feet and was designed by Austin-based Karen Kopicki of Kopicki Design, featuring original artwork by Texas artist Jan Heaton. Spa guests can enjoy 16 treatment rooms, including a couple's suite and hydrotherapy, a nail therapy lounge with four zero-gravity chairs, an inviting relaxation area, and separate men's and women's dressing rooms. It's located at 9820 North Central Expressway, suite 507, near The Hill shopping center.
The spa is known for its organic potions and ingredients, along with a subscription model where monthly members can receive a treatment of their choice at a much-reduced price. To mark its reopening, Hiatus is offering discounts on facials, retail products, and more.
"With eight retreats throughout the state, we are most proud to share this remodel-expansion with our dedicated members who have been with us since day one," says Garrison. "It's truly stunning, and we know they're going to love it."
To ensure the safety of guests and team members, Hiatus' COVID program includes protocols for sanitizing with hospital-grade cleaning products, screening guests and staff members for signs of infection or illness, remote check-ins, staggered appointments, and contactless payment, along with additional measures.
