1. Yum! Brands promises to change logo for banh mi sandwich shop. Responding to concerns from the Vietnamese community, restaurant company Yum! Brands has extended an apology and volunteered to change the logo for its new banh mi sandwich concept, Banh Shop.

2. Agency suspends fruitless search for missing Dallas-area woman Christina Morris. Texas Equusearch has suspended its search for Christina Morris, a 23-year-old Dallas-area woman who went missing August 30. The independent search and recovery team used ATVs, horses and even drones to look for Morris, but it didn't find any clues leading to the young woman's whereabouts.

3. The highest-paid CEO in America is a Texan. When they say everything is bigger in Texas, they must be thinking about executive salaries. According to new rankings, the highest-paid CEO in the country is a Texan: Charif Souki of Houston-based Cheniere Energy, whose total compensation for 2013 was a jaw-dropping $141,949,280.

4. Dallas bar boycotts NFL games over domestic violence issues. Fed up by NFL attitudes toward abuse, North Dallas bar Jack Mac's Swill & Grill has issued a football boycott and will not show its games at the bar. Owner Jack MacDonald says he knows he's not about to single-handedly bring down the NFL but felt like it was time to take a stance against the league's seeming forgiveness toward domestic abuse.

5. Dallas Symphony Orchestra pulls out all the stops for momentous AT&T Gala. Cool, crisp temperatures arrived just in time for the 2014 Dallas Symphony Orchestra AT&T Gala at the Meyerson Symphony Center, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Beautifully dressed symphony supporters descended on the Arts District for a momentous evening, which included a surprise appearance by Sarah Ferguson.

1. Authentic Argentinian empanada shop opens near Dallas' Park Cities. An empanada concept from Georgia has come to Texas: Called Belén de la Cruz, it's a small chain from Atlanta that has opened its first Texas location across from Dallas' Inwood Village, at 5601 Lovers Ln. #120, in a former massage spot.

2. New private club with sports & dining opens in old T-Bar Dallas space. Dallas tennis and racquet sports facility T Bar M Racquet Club has been transformed into Banner House at T Bar M, a new private club combining sports facilities with hospitality options.

3. Fancy fajitas will sizzle at new El Molino in Dallas' Snider Plaza. A Dallas restaurant group is unveiling a sizzling new concept: Called El Molino, it's a Mexican restaurant opening in Snider Plaza, and it's from Vandelay Hospitality, the group founded in 2012 by restaurateur Hunter Pond.

4. Party of Five brings brunch and wings to Dallas' Bishop Arts. A brunch-and-lunch restaurant has opened in Dallas' Bishop Arts: Called Party of 5, it’s in the former Tacos y Chelas space at 244 W. Davis St., where it opened in early January.

5. BarraCruda serves rare Tex-Mex Indian fusion menu in Little Elm. A restaurant in Little Elm called BarraCruda Tex-Mex is serving an amazing only-in-Texas fusion combining Tex-Mex and Indian cuisines under one roof. The restaurant is at 498 W. Eldorado Pkwy. where it opened in 2021. However, it got a second life after it was taken over by owner Pavan Paladugu and his family in 2023.
