Local designers show off for Dallas sophisticates at Fashion Friday mixer
Time flies when you are having a blast, and this past month just whizzed by. We feel like we just told you about the new monthly Fashion Friday series hosted by The Fashionistas, and this stylish set recently held the second fabulous installment at Fedora restaurant in One Arts Plaza.
Glam guests — including LeeAnne Locken, David Fisher, Claudia Medina, Stacy Lea, Nicole Johnson, Madison Hunnicutt, Darren Robateau, Chloe Cuington, Grace Frimpomaa, Severyn Brandau, Sally Brandau and Jarrod Fresquez — mingled with designers Danh Ta and Lucy Dang, who showcased their designs in a laid-back fashion show of sorts while guests sipped champagne and chatted with fellow fashionistas.
Beautiful models from the Dragonfly Agency — with their perfect pouts by Motive Cosmetics and dainty do's by the Hair Bar — sported innovative designs from both of these hot local designers.
Ta’s designs are boldly contemporary, and he demonstrates a passion for even the smallest of details. Born to a tailor and a painter in Thailand, his family relocated to Oklahoma when he was very young. Upon graduating high school, he left home for Texas to enroll in the Art Institute of Texas. The Danh Ta collection is currently offered exclusively at Fushion Home Fashion.
Dang may be the more recognizable of the two, as she has already launched three collections and is currently working to expand her brand worldwide. She also won the title of Texas' Next Top Designer earlier this year. Needless to say, big things are on the horizon for this Dallasite.
Be on the lookout for the announcement for the next Fashion Friday, coming to a hot Dallas spot in December.
