Pet of the Week
This Chihuahua mix is feeling lucky about finding an adoptive family
Former featured pets Shy and Monopoly are still available for adoption. This week meet Lucky, a 4-year-old, 17-pound Chihuahua mix who has been at the SPCA of Texas for about two months.
This little cutie came to us missing his left eye, due to a past trauma. But he doesn’t let it slow him down. He can run, play and cuddle with the best of them. Lucky is a fun guy who enjoys skipping about the dog parks, chomping down on squeaky toys and dancing for treats. If you offer him a biscuit or two, he will gladly show off his skills.
Lucky was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on October 28 after some good Samaritans found him wandering about their neighborhood and could not keep him. He can be a little shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he is a little sweetheart. He has been neutered, heartworm tested (he’s negative) and microchipped, and he has received his age-appropriate vaccinations.
According to his previous owner, Lucky is okay with kids, but he can be a little particular about his canine friends. If you are considering adopting him and have another dog, Lucky would love to meet him first. You can bring your currently vaccinated dogs to the shelter to meet potential pets like Lucky.
Come meet Lucky (#123320) today at the SPCA of Texas’ Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas at 2400 Lone Star Dr., near I-30 and Hampton Road. The center is open seven days a week, noon-6 pm.
