On Your Mark
Run with leprechauns, dinosaurs, and cowboys in DFW this March

St. Paddy's Day Dash Down Greenville is celebrating 30 years.
After several "false" springs, it appears warmer weather is here to stay. And because it's warm and breezy outside — and not hot yet, thank goodness — that means it's the perfect climate in which to put on your sneakers and bib and run a 5K — or more.
Whether you're running for charity or pickles, channeling leprechauns or dinosaurs, there's a wide array of races happening this March in DFW.
Mardi Gras Magic, March 8
Denton
From the kid's dash to the 5K, 10K, and half-marathon, there's plenty to celebrate at this event where laissez les bons temps rouler. Accordingly, the finisher's medal is a giant, seven-inch Mardi Gras mask.
Time to Paddy 5K/10K & Lucky 13.1, March 8
Fort Worth
Head to Marine Creek Lake in Forth Worth for a family-friendly race with a St. Patrick's Day theme. All registered participants receive a shirt guaranteed to ward off pinches come March 17.
Rodeo Stampede, March 9
Irving
Howdy, partners! Come dressed in your finest Western wear and you just might lasso an award for best costume. But also make sure you don't run in your cowboy boots, because you'll want to finish the speedy 1 mile, thrilling 5K, challenging quarter marathon, or mighty half marathon so you can meet Bigfoot himself at the end.
St. Paddy's Day Dash Down Greenville, March 15
Dallas
This green-drenched race has kicked off the St. Paddy's Day Parade festivities for a whopping three decades — is this the year you join the sea of green? Off the race course, all participants can get into the competitive spirit with the annual St. Paddy's Day Spirit Tutu Contest and a donut eating contest, and enjoy the beer garden (21+) and music by DJ Dame.
Luck of the Irish, March 16
The Colony
Take your pick from a 5K, run-bike-run, relays, and even a triathlon that starts at the Lewisville ISD Aquatic Center, and don't forget to wear green.
Epic Dino Dash Relay, 5K, and Fun Run, March 22
Grand Prairie
EpicCenter is all about dinosaurs in March, with animatronic prehistoric beasts taking over the GrandLawn, a free Dino Fest happening on March 15, and then the third-annual running of this roaring good time. All appropriate attire is welcome for the runs, but the relay is the real draw here: Teams of four suit up in inflatable dinosaur costumes to battle for bragging rights.
Pickle Run, March 22
Mansfield
Welcome to the World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Run, which is part of Pickle Palooza, which also includes a parade, all in the Official Pickle Capital of Texas, Mansfield. The Palooza is free, but the races (5K and 1 mile) require registration and a fee.
Fox Trot Run, March 29
Fort Worth
The idea here is to celebrate friendships and run like a pack: "It doesn't matter how fast we get there, all that matters is we get there," reads the website. There's no time limit on the half-marathon, which really drives the point home. Timing is optional, and the runner's shirt is shipped directly to your house (how convenient!).
Irving Marathon, March 29-30
Irving
This running series happens all year long, but the 13th annual marathon, is the main event in March. This Boston Marathon qualifier sports a fast, flat, scenic course, plus a pre/post-race party at Toyota Music Factory.
