1. Jesus-themed musical His Story abruptly closes in The Colony after one month. The Jesus-themed theatrical event His Story: The Musical announced it would be closing, Sunday, June 18, after a newly added 7 pm show. The announcement was posted on the musical's social media channels shortly before 6 pm, stating that all tickets would be free for that evening's final performance with the code "Father's Day."
2. Acclaimed ice cream shop edged out of storefront in Dallas' Bishop Arts. After five years in Dallas' Bishop Arts District, an acclaimed Miami-born ice cream shop has been given the boot. Azucar Ice Cream, located at 269 N. Bishop Ave., is leaving the space at the end of July, to be replaced by a location of Botolino Gelato Artigianale, a Dallas gelato chain.
3. 15-year-old from South Korea wins 2023 Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition in Dallas. Seokyoung Hong, a 15-year-old phenom from South Korea, took home the top prize at the 2023 Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition and Festival in Dallas on Saturday, June 17. Yifan Wu, 14, of China, won second place, and third prize went to Jan Schulmeister, 16, of Czechia.

5. Ex-Princess Di chef launches Dallas food trailer with British fish & chips. There's a new mobile food operation in town doing authentic fish & chips. Called Winston's British Fish N Chips, it's a spinoff of a concept founded in Vancouver, Washington, but one with local ties: One of the partners is chef Darren McGrady, who now resides in Plano but was famously the former personal chef to Diana, Princess of Wales.
