She Went To H&M
Jessica Chastain turns heads in cheap chic H&M dress at vaunted Oscar VIP party
While celebrities attending the exclusive Vanity Fair Oscar party in Hollywood on Sunday wore designer outfits retailing for five figures or more — Jennifer Lopez in a slinky Zuhair Murad gown, Naomi Watts in a Giorgio Armani pantsuit, Lupita Nyong’o in a Calvin Klein Collection gold beaded strapless dress — one A-list star stunned the crowd in a dress that costs less than $300.
Jessica Chastain, who has been nominated for an Oscar in previous years for The Help and Zero Dark Thirty, wore a fitted dress with ruffled asymmetrical hem from H&M’s Conscious Exclusive Collection. At $299, the dress is expensive by H&M standards, but it was likely cheaper than the Jimmy Choo sandals she wore.
Chastain switched from her Oscar gown — a blue Givenchy creation with an odd black sequined bustline — into the H&M dress from the chain’s collection of eco-friendly evening wear, which is made with sustainable materials such as recycled polyester, hemp and organic cotton.
A H&M representative says the dress will soon be available at the Dallas NorthPark and Houston Galleria locations.
