Vancouver design house debuts new Dallas boutique at NorthPark Center

An innovative design house from Vancouver that aims to "create beautifully made clothes and curate exceptional experiences for each individual" is such a fan of Dallas-Fort Worth, it's opening a second location in the area. Aritzia will debut at NorthPark Center on May 2.

The 3,175-square-foot boutique will mark only the second Aritzia in Texas and the first in Dallas proper; the other location is way up north at The Shops at Willow Bend, on the planet of Plano.

The pretty new boutique will feature masonry walls and custom millwork floor fixtures, creating a studio ambiance, the company says. The space also has an eclectic selection of new and vintage artwork, with greenery throughout the retail area, they say.

"Each Aritzia destination — physical and digital — is considered individually, taking the time and effort to create places that provide the most beautiful and immersive shopping experience," the company says in a release. "The goal is to create places for rich, memorable, human experiences — something Aritzia believes people crave today more than ever before.

Aritzia started inside a 70-year-old, family-owned department store in Vancouver. The first standalone boutique opened in 1984, and the company has kept growing.

"We develop our own brands, treating each as an independent label with its own creative team and aesthetic," the company says on its website. "As a group, they have a few things in common: an effortless appeal, a focus on fit and an of-the-moment point of view.

"We sweat the small stuff. It's why we search out the best mills and factories around the world. It's why we consider (and reconsider) every last seam, pleat and button."

To celebrate grand opening weekend, a flower shop by Grange Hall florists will pop up at the NorthPark store from noon to 5 pm May 2-5, creating custom bouquets that will be gifted with each purchase.

Aritzia at NorthPark Center is on Level One near Dillard's, between Lucky Brand and Johnston & Murphy. Hours are 10 am to 9 pm Monday-Saturday and noon to 6 pm Sunday. For more information and the latest looks, follow them on Instagram and Facebook.

High-fashion name Miu Miu to open first Dallas store in Highland Park

An iconic fashion name is opening a store in Dallas: Miu Miu, the Italian brand that's a younger sibling to Prada, will open its only DFW location at Highland Park Village, the open-air shopping center in Highland Park, at 12 Highland Park Village in the former Dior space.

According to a release, it'll open in fall 2025.

A representative from Highland Park Village calls the label "one of the hottest brands in fashion."

Miu Miu was founded in 1993 by Miuccia Prada as a more colorful spinoff of her original Prada label. Miu Miu is generally described as "playful," and targeted to a younger audience in their 20s and 30s — lots of pop-art colors and patterns, as compared to the more austere black-nylon reputation of Prada. Miu Miu is also less expensive.

They've had some ebb and flow in terms of popular appeal, but have been enjoying a surge of renewed interest and sales in recent years.

Miu Miu merchandise can be found at some stores including Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, but not an entire store. The Highland Park Village location will carry ready-to-wear, footwear, handbags, fashion jewelry, and accessories.

While the release says this is the first store in Texas, there was once a Miu Miu that opened in Houston at the Galleria back in 2011, but it closed prior to the pandemic.

Miuccia Prada is in expansion mode: A massive new Prada store opened in December 2024 at NorthPark Center.

At HPV, Miu Miu will join a designer's den featuring retailers such as Akris, Alexander McQueen, Balmain, Brioni, Carolina Herrera, Cartier, Chanel, Chloé, Christian Louboutin, Dior, Fendi, Goyard, Harry Winston, Hermès, Jimmy Choo, LOEWE, Moncler, Ralph Lauren, Rolex, Tom Ford, Vacheron Constantin, Valentino, and Van Cleef & Arpels.
