KISS-FM's Kellie Rasberry debuts fashion collection with chic pieces under $100
Longtime listeners of 106.1 KISS-FM remember when Kellie Rasberry's daughter, Emma Kelly, was born, and they've "listened" to her grow up through stories her mom has shared on air.
Fast-forward more than a decade, and the "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" host and her now-13-year-old daughter have teamed up to launch a new fashion collection and e-commerce retail site, Emma Kelly & Me.
"I bought the domain EmmaKellyAndMe.com when Emma Kelly was a baby, not really knowing what I would do with it," Rasberry (who also goes by her newer married name, Evans) says in a release. "For the longest time, it was just the two of us against the world. And as a single mom, my goal was to raise a daughter filled with a spirit of independence, generosity, compassion, and confidence. It's a goal I’m still striving to achieve to this day."
That's why, she says, when she was looking for the perfect name to represent her first foray into the fashion business, "Emma Kelly & Me" came to mind immediately.
"I'm looking forward to adding Emma Kelly's vision and voice to the site in the future so it is truly a project we can grow together," she says.
The site has launched with a well-edited "fall collection" of handbags, as well as "elevated basics" that are high quality, functional, and versatile — all picked by Rasberry herself. Of utmost importance: everything is under $100.
For the site's roll-out, Rasberry collaborated with local designer Parker & Hyde for three leopard-print handbags made from genuine Brazilian “Hair on Hide” leather. The bags, bearing the label "Emma Kelly & Me," feature a striking raspberry pink canvas interior and complementary leather tassel.
The "Kellie Clutch" sells for $99; a "Kellie Crossbody," for $89; and the "Emma Kelly Everyday Pouch," for $59.
As for the basics, there's a fun pair of slim-fit yet stretchy jeans called "WannaBettaButt Jeans" ($38); comfy black "Morning Drive Workpants" ($37); and a few tops, skirts, and cardigan sweaters.
Free shipping is offered for orders totaling more than $149.
Rasberry models all the looks on the site. And there's more to come, such as clothes for girls Emma Kelly's age, they promise.
"Emma Kelly & Me is a clothing and accessories brand with a goal of dressing women (and women-in-training) in apparel that gives them confidence," she says. "If [the brand] can help a woman feel confident by wearing our clothing, then we have done a beautiful thing because confidence is beautiful."
Rasberry launched the new venture on October 16 with a grand party at Al Biernat's attended by a who's who in the fashion, beauty, and media worlds of Dallas.
And the site is now "open for business" at www.EKandMe.com. Follow along with their news and special events at @EKandMe on Facebook and Instagram.
