Original ChopShop restaurant brings healthy fare to Dallas' Lakewood
The newest place in town for healthy eating is Lakewood. The Original ChopShop chain is opening its newest location in the Dallas area at the Lakewood Shop on January 14.
According to a release, the new shop is at 6465 E. Mockingbird Lane, #308. It's going into what used to be an eyewear place called Visionworks.
It's been remodeled with a relaxed atmosphere, sunny accents, distressed wood, handwritten notes, local vintage photography, and a 700-square-foot patio.
Original ChopShop is an emerging brand founded in Arizona, where it has eight locations. DFW is its next big area, with locations in Las Colinas, the Shops at Legacy in Plano, Park & Preston in Plano, and Hillcrest Avenue in the Park Cities.
Lakewood is the fifth.
The menu includes protein bowls, salads ("chops"), sandwiches, juice, protein shakes, acai bowls, breakfast items, and parfaits. There are dietary-friendly items for adults and children, including gluten-free, dairy-free, lactose-free, and soy-free, along with vegetarian and vegan options.
CEO Jason Morgan says in a statement that this location at Mockingbird and Abrams is in a neighborhood that's in need of healthy fare.
"Original ChopShop brings a new, healthful offering to this neighborhood that has been largely underserved," Morgan says. "We can't wait to share our 'Just Feel Good Food' with new guests."
