Rockin' new lakeside restaurant debuts at Grand Prairie marina

How about some fried food at Rockin' S.
A lakeside restaurant has debuted in Grand Prairie just in time for the summer: Called Rockin’ S Bar and Grill, it’s a Cajun seafood spot on the Lynn Creek Marina, taking over the space at 5700 Lake Ridge Pkwy. that used to be Blue Sunshine, and before that, the Oasis, a seafood restaurant that closed in 2021.
According to a release, it opened in March.
Rockin’ S comes from owner Sam LeComte, who owns four other Rockin’ S restaurants, all in marina locations including Granbury, Graham west of Fort Worth, and two in Grapevine, making Grand Prairie the fifth in the chain.
The menu stars Cajun-style seafood including fried catfish, fried shrimp, gator baskets, blackened or grilled catfish, and po’boys. But they also do pizza, plus American bar food including burgers, pasta, and salads.
Most entrees run from $18 for gorgonzola pasta with skirt steak to a 14-ounce ribeye steak with two sides for $32. Appetizers include nachos, onion rings, fried pickles, and their popular pound of peel n’ eat shrimp with cocktail dipping sauce for $24.
They have a full bar with $12 cocktails — including colorful and frozen options — plus beer, wine, and hard cider.
Beyond the food and beverage, they have a range of amenities for entertaining diners and boaters, with an outdoor patio, dance floor, and a stage for live bands.
Their interior has a seaside atmosphere with wood plank ceiling, wood flooring and walls, and nautical decor. A room upstairs can be booked for private events.
The restaurant sits on Joe Pool Lake, which was built and filled in 1989. Lynn Creek Marina was added and opened in 1990. The restaurant and bar, which floats on the lake and provides next level views, was later built in 1992.
The marina features a golf driving range, boat rentals, and slips from Suntex, the Dallas-based company that owns and manages 95 marinas across the U.S., including Lynn Creek.
