For 25 years, Dallas-area families have celebrated the holiday season at the Trains at NorthPark benefiting the Ronald McDonald House. To thank sponsors and supporters, event chairs Cate and Jeremy Ford opened their lovely Highland Park home for a cocktail party.
Honorary co-chairs Debbie Raynor and Alan Engstrom reminisced about the tradition of taking their children — and now grandchildren — to see the trains each year.
"It hasn't changed so much — other than the technology — but that's a good thing," Engstrom said. "You know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Guests — including Jill and Chris Cumnock, Vera Bangs, Melinda Emmons, Cecilie Holman, Betty and Michael Bullington, and Angela and Brad Cheves — snacked on mini tacos and tiny grilled cheese sandwiches and sipped on wine while talking up the trains. Everyone was excited to celebrate the important anniversary of the largest fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House.
The trains will be unveiled at NorthPark — on level two, between Barneys and Nordstrom — November 17, and runs through January 6, 2013.
