RIP Christina
Remains of missing Allen woman Christina Morris found in Anna field
Nearly four years after the disappearance of Christina Morris, her remains were found on March 7 in a field in Anna, Texas, according to a statement from the Plano Police Department.
A news conference held by The Plano Police Department included remarks by Christina's sister Sarah and her mother, Jonni McElroy, who stated that it was the "worst day of our lives."
Morris, a 23-year-old young woman, was last seen in August 2014 after leaving a friend's apartment at the Shops at Legacy in Plano around 4 am on Labor Day weekend. A parking lot videotape showed her walking with friend Enrique Arochi.
Her family mounted an exhaustive search that included the use of drones, a $25,000 reward, and countless volunteers who were still searching right up until her remains were found.
Morris' partial skeleton was discovered by an excavation crew who were clearing land in a wooded area in the 1800 block of Taylor Road, a mile east of US 75 — and less than a mile from a cellphone tower that pinged Arochi's phone one day after Morris' disappearance.
In 2016, Arochi was sentenced to life in prison for Aggravated Kidnapping.
A service is being held on March 8 at 7:30 pm, at the corner of Mesquite Lane and Sweet Gum Road, near where her remains were found.
