Rock star East Dallas lounge tops 5 most popular stories this week
Editor’s note: Another week has come and gone, and there’s a lot we all probably missed. But we’re looking out for you, kid. Here are the most popular stories from this past week:
1. This Dallas freeway shutdown is, like, the biggest so far. Thanks to the ongoing Dallas Horseshoe Project, we've seen freeway closures before — several in fact — but, this one was a biggie: On June 24, I-35 E southbound underwent a full shutdown.
2.Local rock stars dream up chill cocktail lounge for East Dallas' main drag. Garland Road is emerging as a hot zone in Dallas, and there's a coming-soon lounge with rock star credentials to prove it. Called Here, it's a casual new bar from Julie Doyle, singer and manager of Polyphonic Spree, and Tony Barsotti, artist, musician, and furniture designer.
3. It takes half a million to get a designer ranch near Dallas' Greenville Avenue. Sometimes it's okay to judge a book by its cover, and this newly listed, $525,000 Wilshire Heights home at 6115 Mercedes Ave. is a prime example.
4. Dallasites can grab something green from this new healthy restaurant import. An Arizona fast-casual chain with a healthy focus is bringing its edamame to Dallas. The evocatively named Grabbagreen will open its first Dallas location at 3417 Gaston Ave., on the ground floor of the Gaston Medical Office Building, on the Baylor campus.
5. Real Housewives of Dallas face off in final round of trash talk and tears. If you watch them — and you do, so stop pretending you don’t — you know that a Real Housewives series isn’t over until Bravo network’s resident host, Andy Cohen, sits down with all the women for a weepy reunion episode.
