Dallas' Starship Bagel breaks silence on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives

A Dallas bagel shop has revealed that it will be featured on Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Starship Bagel, the artisan bagel shop with three locations in the Dallas area, will appear in the series starring charismatic host Guy Fieri in an episode called “All Kinds of Cookin'," which will debut on June 6 at 8 pm.
According to a post from Starship Bagel owner and founder Oren Salomon, having Guy Fieri and crew visit was "an incredible experience" that "totally changed his life."
"I can’t share details about the episode, so if you have any questions about what Guy ate or what we talked about, you’ll have to watch the episode and find out," Salomon said. "What I am happy to share is that this was an incredible experience for our team. The DDD crew is like none other and we had a blast being a TV set for two days. To bring a national TV crew to Lewisville, Texas will forever rank as one of my proudest achievements."
Starship was one of seven restaurants that Fieri and his DD&D crew visited in December 2024, when they taped segments for future episodes such as this.
Food Network does not disclose the names of the restaurants that appear on its shows in advance, nor does it allow restaurants to reveal their participation without approval. But Salomon says he was given permission by Food Network to confirm it was true.
He said that "Guy's larger-than-life personality filled the bagel shop as soon as he arrived."
"Guy was very much himself in person. The character you see on TV is exactly the human I got to enjoy hosting and serving," he said.
Salomon had some early jitters, fearful he wouldn’t know what to say during the filming, or worse, just freeze.
"Thankfully Guy’s easygoing demeanor and engaging conversational style made all that anxiety melt away instantly," Salomon said. "He was the easiest person in the world to talk to and set me up perfectly for many bits. I’d say that we had instant chemistry but this would be stealing credit from the entertainment mastery of Guy Fieri."
Salomon applauded Fieri and his team for their dedication to making a difference in the lives of chefs and restaurant workers, and thanked his own team, family members, and the support from the communities surrounding Lewisville, downtown Dallas, and North Dallas, where Starship's three stores are located.
"Thank you and please tune in June 6 at 8 pm only on Food Network!" he said.
