The DIFFA/Dallas Holiday Wreath Collection is one of the rare times it’s considered perfectly acceptable — nay, encouraged — to put up holiday decorations before Thanksgiving. Only these wreaths weren’t purely decorative; they were fundraising opportunities.
More than 70 of them, in fact, designed and donated by Neiman Marcus, Stanley Korshak, Design Within Reach, Jan Barboglio, Avant Garden, Swoon, Cebolla, Michael’s, Pettigrew, Arhaus, Roma Boots, Lucky Dog Barkery, Allan Knight Showroom, Arteriors, and many more. The creations ranged from whimsical to legit works of art, and attendees bid feverishly to not only take one home, but also to help DIFFA in its mission to serve North Texas AIDS service organizations.
The festivities started even before guests walked in the door of Expressions Home Gallery in the Dallas Design District. Awaiting guests at the entrance were top-hatted gentlemen, who opened the doors to reveal a sparkly, shiny wonderland, where the wreaths had been hung amid the showroom’s snazzy bathroom and kitchen fixtures.
In addition to admiring and bidding on this untraditional holiday decor, partygoers — including Brittanie Buchanan Oleniczak, Jason Oleniczak, Sami Abboud, Darin Kunz, James Campbell, Latoya Jones, Simona Beal, John Marrs, Imran Sheikh, Kenzie Mainard, Tiffany Hendra, LeeAnne Locken, Julian Leaver, Javier Burkle, and Lynae Fearing — noshed on bites from III Forks, Cookies Crumbs and Crust, and Sissy’s Southern Kitchen.
Libations from KetelOne and Bud Light surely helped encourage attendees to contribute heartily toward DIFFA, which is gearing up for its 26th annual House of DIFFA, themed Circo Rouge, on May 21, 2016, at the Omni Dallas hotel.
