1. Famous Dallas restaurant family unfurls rainbow-themed bar on Cedar Springs. There's a fun new bar lined up to open in Dallas' Cedar Springs district in early 2020. Called Roy G's, it's from the legendary Street family and will open at 4001 Cedar Springs Rd., on the corner of Throckmorton Street in the space previously occupied by Zephyr Cafe, which closed in June.
2. Mega-game facility with indoor go-karts cruises into Dallas-Fort Worth. A deluxe new entertainment facility with a whole cadre of games is coming to the Dallas area. Called Andretti Indoor Karting and Games, it's an entertainment concept with a whole range of activities including high-speed electric super karts, bowling, VR gaming, arcade games, and a ropes course, plus a unique dining component.
3. Dallas is home to one of the top 20 concert venues in the world. American Airlines Center has been recognized by several publications as one of the busiest in the world over the past decade. The arena, which opened in 2001, was ranked as a top-20 venue in the world over the past decade by industry publications VenuesNow, Billboard, and Pollstar.
4. Dallas area booms with huge number of new residents from out of state. Only one Texas county is attracting more out-of-state residents than Dallas. According to a data analysis released December 9 by StorageCafé, Dallas County ranked second for most relocations from different states in 2017. Harris County was first.
5. Dallas millennials help kids reach for the stars at out-of-this-world gala. Many consider the Crystal Charity Ball to be the finale of Dallas' fall/winter social season, but millennials like to play by their own rules. So they packed the Statler Hotel on December 14 for the fourth annual Millennial Gala, which supports Millennials for STEM.
Dallas County was second only to Harris County for most out-of-state arrivals.
