1. Dallas woman wins 2024 Miss Hooters International beauty pageant. Cassidy Welch, a server at a Dallas-area Hooters, was named Miss Hooters International 2024 at the 27th Annual Miss Hooters International Pageant which took place on August 22 at Billy Bob’s.
2. Much anticipated Kaleidoscope Park to debut with fanfare in Frisco. Kaleidoscope Park, a new green space with public art and gardens inside the Hall Park mixed-use development in Frisco, will make its official public debut on Saturday, October 5.
3. Dallas gourmet doughnut shop sells out in an hour on opening day. La Rue Doughnuts, the much-anticipated chef-owned shop at Trinity Groves, opened on August 29, and quickly sold out of doughnuts in just about an hour.
4. Hunt family heiress wows internet with her neon SMU Dallas dorm room. Incoming SMU freshman Ava Hunt — of the Dallas-based Hunt family fame — quickly went viral last week for her frilly, floral, neon, and mirrored dorm room, thanks to an Instagram post from her mother.
5. Post Malone's truck is parked at Raising Cane's Dallas for photo-ops. Post Malone parked the blue 1971 F-150 truck featured on his latest album's cover art available for a photo pop-up at a Raising Cane's in Dallas.
